I love a fashion exhibition, as you may have gathered and Jean Paul Gaultier at Barbican turned out to be one of the best I have seen. Freedom to take photographs and sharing the experience with Kate Maison Bentley Style made for a fashionistas day full of fabulousness indeed!
We were treated to a visual feast and much laughter as mannequins and JPG himself smiled and chatted to us……Kate has evidence of this on her blog.
I took around 100 photos so will share some of my favourites…..
Mannequins revolved slowly around like a luxurious luggage carousel with stunning creations celebrating all things Paris…..ooo la la!
Mohican headpieces to die for stirred my soul and the following images reflect my love of feathers…..
Exquisite corsets, sublime silhouettes…..
And of course Jean Paul’s sense of playfulness and fun throughout….

It has always mystified me why JP does not do more bags. Can you imagine how exquisite they would be! Cannot wait to be hold these treasures!!
I still can’t believe I’m missing this… and to think I was in London just two weeks before opening! Fortunately I have you and Kate to thank for a fabulous virtual visit!

WOW! Your photos do a great job of showing how varied and exciting this exhibit was! What a genius!
Genius indeed! He holds the creative cup aloft in my opinion. Too many designers take themselves too seriously at present.

Thanks so very much for sharing these breathtakingly gorgeous pieces of l’Enfant Terrible de La Mode, the best couturier ever, the marvellous JPG ! X
‘Twas a marvel indeed. X
Seeing it again through your photos has made me enjoy it all over again. I am now contemplating creating a little” drawers spilling open” situation in my new apartment with some blush colored unmentionables spilling out…hmmm
I can see that working…”look but don’t touch” collection….well with glorious exceptions of course!!!
